The Deep Depression that was over coastal West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha moved west-northwestward and now lies over south Jharkhand and adjoining North Odisha and West Bengal about 40 kilometers south-southwest of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), 120 kilometers southeast of Ranchi (Jharkhand), and 220 kilometers east-northeast of Jharsuguda (Odisha).
During the next 24 hours, it will continue to move west-northwest across Jharkhand and adjoining north Odisha and north Chhattisgarh towards north Madhya Pradesh, weakening gradually.
Today, August 20, rainfall is very likely in most places, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few places over Northwest Odisha, Jharkhand, and Vidarbha.
