Deepika Padukone, who recently appeared in an extended cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan,’ has disclosed her look as a cop from her upcoming film ‘Singham Again,’ as well as the name of her character – Shakti Shetty.
The actress came to Instagram on Sunday to reveal two images from the flick. The first image shows the actress grabbing a goon’s hair as he lies at her feet. The actress can be seen peering into the camera while inserting the barrel of the rifle in the goon’s mouth, a wicked chuckle on her face and blood streaks on her uniform.
Because the image was released on the first day of Navratri, it also serves as a strong reference to goddess Durga slaying Mahishasur at her feet.
The other picture shows Deepika laughing with the barrel of the gun resting on her forehead. She can also be seen wearing bandages on her hands.
The actress wrote in the caption, “Introducing…Shakti Shetty”.
Deepika’s ‘Fighter’ co-star Hrithik Roshan took to the comments section and wrote, “Amazing, nicely done”.
Deepika was unveiled as a member of the ‘Singham Again’ cast and as a lady cop during a press event for her husband Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Cirkus’ last year in Mumbai.
The ‘Singham’ franchise, directed by superstar Rohit Shetty, is part of Shetty’s cop world, which includes Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, and her husband Ranveer Singh as cops.
