‘Tu Hai Dhaakad,’ from Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Dhakaad,’ was released here to much acclaim. The song was played on a floating LED screen on the Ganga’s banks.
Dhruv Ghanekar, a veteran advertising and film composer, composed the film’s title song. It was written by actor and writer Ishitta Arun and is performed by jazz singer Vasundhara Vee.
Kangana Ranaut said of the song, “We released ‘Tu Hai Dhaakad’ during the last leg of our promotional campaign as this song sets the tone of the film.” Agent Agni is portrayed as an unstoppable force who embodies the never-say-die attitude. The song has an anthem-like quality to it, and it represents my character’s grit and confidence in herself and her abilities.”
Agent Agni’s fierce yet vulnerable characteristics are personified and embodied in ‘Tu Hai Dhaakad.’ The song’s lyrics and melody highlight the titular character’s journey in the film.
“I wanted a song with a rousing aspect to it,” director Razneesh Ghai said of the song. I contacted a friend from the advertising industry, musician Dhruv Ghanekar, who has written many songs in the past. I knew he’d be able to understand what I was thinking and turn it into a song.”
“The song is inspiring and instils a sense of how one can achieve things despite all odds and should never accept defeat,” he added. Ishitta Arun has written lyrics that capture the spirit of the film’s story and Agent Agni’s bravery. Vasundhara Vee’s vocals take the song to a whole new level, and her singing style soars and soars.”
Producer Deepak Mukut said, “The song ‘Tu Hai Dhaakad’ is inspirational and really apt for the film’s theme and story. It feels wonderful to see that the film which we have made with our blood and sweat, is also scoring high musically. This song highlights the film’s theme and Agent Agni’s spirit, and it will deeply connect the audience to Kangana’s character.”
“All of the songs in the film have been beautifully composed and flow organically into the film’s narrative.” Soham Rockstar Entertainment is also launching its own music label, SRE Music, in collaboration with Dhaakad, and we are ecstatic to have the film’s album as our first project. “Its music will resonate with every audience member and will stay with them long after they leave the theatres,” he said.
‘Dhaakad,’ presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment, produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai, and co-produced by Hunar Mukut, will be released in theatres on May 20, 2022, starring Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta.
