Bengaluru: An individual aboard an IndiGo flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru was arrested for alleged drunken misconduct towards the airline’s crew, despite repeated warnings, according to authorities on Monday.
Upon landing on November 17, the 32-year-old passenger was turned over to the police at Kempegowda International Airport, as confirmed by a senior police officer.
“We registered a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code based on the complaint from IndiGo and subsequently arrested the passenger. He was later released on bail,” the officer stated.
IndiGo, in an official statement, reported that the passenger on flight 6E 556 exhibited signs of intoxication and engaged in disruptive behavior towards the crew despite multiple admonitions.
“The passenger was handed over to local law enforcement upon arrival for further legal proceedings. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to other passengers,” the airline expressed in its statement.
