With effect from today, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has been increased by 50. According to the most latest revision, Domestic cylinders will now cost 999.50 per cylinder.
Earlier this month, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi was raised by around ₹102 to ₹2,355.5 on May 1. A 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder’s price has also been raised to ₹655.
Following the assembly elections in five states, the prices of gasoline, diesel, and LPG have been steadily increasing. The subsidised domestic LPG cylinder price increased by ₹50 on March 22. Previously, there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders after October 6, 2021.
Domestic cooking gas prices differ from state to state due to local taxes. Every month, the prices of LPG cylinders are revised by the fuel retailers.
In a year, each household is entitled to 12 cylinders weighing 14.2 kg each at subsidised rates. Customers must then make any additional LPG cylinder purchases at market prices. Consumers receive subsidised LPG cylinders through the PAHAL (Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG) scheme. The subsidy is determined by several factors, including foreign exchange rates and crude oil prices.
