The Commission claims that the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha is the Returning Officer (RO) for the election. In compliance with Rule 3 of the 1974 Election Rules, the Secretary General has also issued a Public Notice.
According to the schedule, nomination papers are due on any working day, excluding public holidays, till August 21, 2025, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Room No. RS-28, Parliament House, New Delhi.
It is required that a security deposit of Rs 15,000 be made, either in cash to the RO or in a government treasury or the Reserve Bank of India.
A certified copy of the candidate’s listing on the parliamentary constituency’s electoral roll and proof of security deposit receipt must be included with the nomination papers.
During the nomination period, the forms are accessible at the RO’s office. The nomination papers will be examined on August 22 at 11 a.m. at Parliament House’s Room No. F-100 (Sangoshthi-2).
