Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Odisha on Friday for a two-day visit to campaign for BJP candidates in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. He will hold a roadshow in the state capital of Bhubaneswar today and an electoral rally in Bolangir on Saturday.
The roadshow will take place between Master Canteen Square and Vani Vihar in Bhubaneswar around 6 p.m. today.
From 2 p.m. to the completion of today’s roadshow, all vehicular travel between Master Canteen Square and Vani Vihar has been blocked.
In addition, security in Bhubaneswar has been increased in preparation for the Prime Minister’s roadshow today. The Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos and the Commissionerate Police have reviewed the security plans for Prime Minister Modi’s roadshow.
In addition to 55 police platoons, three anti-terrorist special tactical units (STU) will be deployed, and dog and bomb squads will cordon off the entire roadshow area. Previously, the Commissionerate Police prohibited the use of drones, declaring the region a ‘no drone fly’ zone for the Prime Minister’s security.
