According to media reports, two people ejected safely from a fighter jet that subsequently crashed during an airshow in the US state of Michigan.
On Sunday evening, shortly after 4 p.m., the two occupants parachuted from the MiG-23 fighter jet south of Willow Run Airport, near Ypsilanti, and landed in Belleville Lake. According to CBS News, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
According to CNN, the Wayne County Airport Authority stated in a statement that neither of the two men sustained serious injuries but were brought to a local hospital as a precaution.
According to the Authority, the aircraft then crashed in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, striking vacant vehicles, and no one in the apartment complex was hurt.
Thunder Over Michigan, a two-day airshow event, claimed it will be cancelled due to a “situation,” but provided no further specifics.
“Please get into your vehicles and drive out of the airfield calmly.” “Please be patient as we control traffic in the area,” it said on social media.
