The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) registration deadline has been extended. Interested applicants should register for GATE 2025 online at gate2025.iitr.ac.in before October 3.
GATE is an entrance exam for master’s and doctoral programs, as well as for employment in certain public-sector organizations.
Several public sector companies, notably Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), will employ applicants based on the GATE 2025 results.
While the GATE 2025 results of papers in civil engineering (CE), chemical engineering (CH), electronics and communication engineering (EC), electrical engineering (EE), instrumentation engineering (IN) and mechanical engineering (ME) test papers for recruitment in NPCIL, the results of electrical engineering (EE) paper will be used in the recruitment of GRID-INDIA.
Moreover, a valid GATE 2025 score can be used for seeking admission to multiple programmes including:
– Master’s programmes and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts or humanities, and
– Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts or humanities, in the institutions supported by the Ministry of Education and other government agencies.
As a first, the Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Kanpur) would admit MTech students through the GATE 2025 examination.
The GATE 2025 exam will be held in February over the weekends on February 1, 2, 15 and 16.
