The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will begin accepting registrations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 begins on August 28. Students who are interested in taking the exam can register online at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
Previously, registration for GATE 2025 was set to open on August 24, however it was postponed for unclear reasons. Despite the change in registration date, the GATE 2025 deadline is September 26. It is also vital for students to understand that the dates are subject to change, according to an information leaflet from IIT Roorkee.
GATE 2025: How to apply
Step 1: Visit the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in
Step 2: On the homepage, there will be apply online option, which will get activated tomorrow.
Step 3: Select the option and register yourself.
Step 4: Using the registered credentials, re-login and complete the form.
Step 5: Once completed, pay the fees and download the application for admission purposes.
GATE 2025: Important dates
The aptitude test will take place between February 1 and 16, and the results will be released on March 19. There are no international exam centers this time, thus international students must choose an exam centre in India.
A candidate may select three cities from the list of examination locations provided in the booklet. All three choices must be from the same GATE zone.
The deadline for changing categories, papers, and testing cities, adding a new test paper, and updating personal information is November 6. All of these adjustments will be permitted, with an extra price charged for each change.
The computer based test examination papers will contain some questions of:
(i) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type, where only one option out of four options is correct. Remaining questions may be of
(ii) Multiple Select Question (MSQ) type, where one or more than one options out of four options is/are correct, and
(iii) Numerical Answers Type (NAT) where answer must be keyed in by the candidate using a virtual keypad. Candidates will use only an on-screen virtual calculator provided for the examination.
