The Golden Globes will hold their 80th edition on January 10, 2019. (January 11 for India). Due to protests against the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which was chastised for the lack of diversity among nominees, the awards were not broadcast in 2022. Media companies, actors, and creatives all boycotted the event. The ceremony was private, and the winners were announced in a press release.
This year’s prestigious awards ceremony is extra special because SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been nominated in two categories. The film has been nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu and Best Picture — Non-English Language. Because the Golden Globes are an important precursor to the Academy Awards, these nominations are even more important for RRR.
When will the ceremony take place?
The Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 10 at 8 p.m. ET (January 11, 5:30 am IST). The red carpet appearances will begin at 5:30 a.m., followed by the ceremony at 6:30 a.m.
Where can you watch it?
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the awards will be broadcast live from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC and Peacock in the United States. In India, it is available on Lionsgate Play.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association organizes the Golden Globes. Jerrod Carmichael, a comedian and actor, will host the ceremony, with Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tracy Morgan serving as presenters.
