Krishna Janmashtami, 2022: Krishna Janmashtami is observed to commemorate Lord Krishgna’s birth anniversary. On this day, Lord Krishna devotees dress up in new clothes and worship the Lord. They also perform dance dramas based on devotional songs about Lord Krishna’s life and valour. Krishna Janmashtami is a very important Hindu festival in the Vaishnavism tradition. Krishna Janmashtami will be observed on two consecutive days this year, on August 18 and August 19. Drik Panchang predicts that the Ashtami Tithi will begin at 9:20PM on August 18 and end at 10:59PM on August 19.
On this day, devotees fast, decorate Lord Krishna’s idols, and offer puja to the god. They also decorate their homes and sing hymns to the Lord.
