Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The trading session on Thursday concluded with the key equity indices in positive territory. The BSE Sensex surged 371.96 points, or 0.52%, to 72,410.39, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 123.95 points, or 0.57%, to close at 21,778.70. Largecap and Smallcap stocks led the gains in the broader indices, which concluded in positive territory. The Bank Nifty index reached 48,508.55, up 226.35 points, or 0.47%, at the conclusion. Among the sectoral indexes, energy and FMCG companies did better than IT and consumer durables sectors, which declined. On the NSE Nifty 50, the top gainers were Coal India, NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, and BPCL; the laggards were Adani Enterprises, L&T, Eicher Motors, LTI Mindtree, and Adani Ports and SEZ. The Indian Volatility Index (India VIX) closed down by 2.68 %.
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading mostly in the positive territory on Thursday morning. The Asia Dow is trading up by 0.91%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is red, down by 0.74%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is trading up by 1.74% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite is trading higher by 0.54%.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded down by 0.12% at 100.87.
