Honda Elevate: Platform and design

The Honda Elevate is built on the same platform as the fifth-generation Honda City. The Elevate has a butch appearance because to its vertical nose, slim LED headlights, squared wheel arches, and high waistline.

The Honda Elevate borrows design influences from the global market HR-V and CR-V. According to Honda, the Elevate is designed to be an urban SUV, comparable to others in the sector.

Honda Elevate: Engine specifications

The Honda Elevate is powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine found in the Honda City, producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. The Elevate’s engine is coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, like with the Honda City.

The Elevate SUV will be available only with a normally aspirated engine, with Honda’s 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain coming later. The hybrid engine produces 96bhp and 127Nm of torque when combined with an e-CVT.

Honda Elevate: Features and safety

The Elevate comes standard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, premium speakers, wireless charging, a sunroof, a 7-inch TFT instrument display, automatic climate control, and other features. The Elevate is well-equipped, but it falls a little short of the Creta’s panoramic sunroof.

On the safety aspect, the Honda Elevate gets ADAS, which the company calls ‘Honda Sense’. Lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a road departure mitigation system, a collision mitigation braking system, lead car departure notice, and auto high-beam assist are all included.

In addition to ADAS, the Elevate includes airbags, a reversing camera, emergency stop lights, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBD, hill start aid, stability control, and other features.

Honda Elevate: Competition and pricing

The Honda Elevate competes in a highly competitive segment with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. The Grand Vitara and Hyryder both have complete hybrid engines and AWD.

When it is released, the Honda Elevate might cost between Rs 10 and Rs 17 lakh ex-showroom, putting it in line with the competition.
