2023 Hyundai Exter – What is it?
The new Hyundai Exter is a micro SUV that is built on the Nios platform. LED DRLs, a squarish front fascia with squared wheel arches, flared rear fenders, and alloy wheels distinguish the Exter. The Hyundai Exter will be positioned below the Hyundai Venue in the company’s lineup.
The Exter’s interior is identical to that of the i10 Nios, although it includes a number of segment-first innovations. The Exter comes standard with a voice-activated electric sunroof, a dash-channel camera, an 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a digital dash, cruise control, wireless charging, and other features.
The Exter will be equipped with six airbags, a first in the sector. Other safety features include ESC, ABS with EBD, stability control, reverse parking sensors and camera, hill start aid, TPMS, and ISOFIX child seat anchors amongst others.
Hyundai Exter – Engine specifications
The Hyundai Exter is powered by the same 1.2-liter petrol engine found in the Grand i10 Nios and the Aura compact car. The engine produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission.
The Exter, like the Nios, is available with CNG, as Hyundai is extending its CNG offering in India since this has become a competitive segment.
The Hyundai Exter will compete with the Tata Punch, the carmaker’s second-best-selling product in India after the Nexon, and the Citroen C3, the French carmaker’s entry-level offering in the country.
