Hyundai is preparing to launch the 2022 Venue facelift SUV in India. The Korean automaker has confirmed that the new Venue subcompact SUV will go on sale on June 16. The Venue facelift SUV, which has been heavily upgraded for the first time since its India debut in 2018, will feature a significantly updated exterior design and interiors. It will compete with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift model, which is also expected to be released later this month, as well as other competitors such as the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and others.
The Hyundai Venue facelift SUV will share design cues with the facelifted Creta and Tucson.
Hyundai’s parametric design language will now be seen in the front grille of its new generation models around the world. The parametric design language will also include the LED headlight unit. The Venue SUV will get new LED taillights and a new bumper at the back. The profile will most likely remain largely unchanged. The only difference will be the appearance of the alloy wheels.
The interior will change as well, though perhaps not as dramatically as the exterior. Among other things, the new generation Venue is expected to have ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and front parking sensors. The upholstery and colour scheme of the cabin may also be altered.
Hyundai is expected to offer two petrol engines with the new Venue facelift. They could include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Another 1.0-litre Turbo GDI engine with 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque is possible. It will most likely be paired with one of three transmissions: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, or a 7-speed DCT.
Hyundai may also offer a 1.5-liter turbocharged CRDI diesel engine with 92 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. It will most likely be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter.
Hyundai Venue recently passed the three lakh sales mark since its launch three years ago. Apart from the Creta compact SUV and the i10 Grand Nios hatchback, it is one of the best-selling models from the Korean automaker in India.
