In partnership with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) School of Agriculture has launched a new educational program called Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management (DACM).
The programme covers farm accounting and costing, agro supply chain management, land stewardship, water management, and other farming-related activities.
The program’s goal is to educate and train students to manage farm costs efficiently, increase agricultural productivity, and provide insight into a variety of activities such as strategic decision-making in agricultural production, crop cultivation, livestock rearing, financial planning, resource allocation, marketing, and risk mitigation.
The programme’s major objectives include optimal resource utilisation, proficiency in knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities towards farm cost management, value chain, and supply chain management, an IGNOU statement said.
Diploma in Agricultural Cost Management programme offers a comprehensive range of courses in agriculture, catering to the diverse needs of students and professionals in the field. These cover various aspects of agricultural management and entrepreneurship, providing valuable insights and skills to individuals interested in agricultural development.
