In various areas of Odisha, there will be light to moderate rain and thunderstorms for three days as the state’s daytime temperatures rise. Due to western disturbances, the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional office has forecast light rain for several districts in Odisha’s coastline, south, and north interior on Friday.
The weather office reports that rain and thunder are expected in a number of Odisha districts, mostly because of an increase in atmospheric vapour.
Bhubaneswar, the nation’s capital, saw gloomy skies and afternoon thunderstorms on Thursday. Aside from this, Cuttack, Khurda, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and a few more Odisha districts reported little rain.
Moderate rain/thundershower is likely in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, and Jagatsinghpur on Friday while Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri and Cuttack are likely to receive moderate rainfall on Saturday and Sunday.
The day temperatures are likely to be below normal due to rain. However, the weather is likely to change from Tuesday next and the mercury will soar. The daytime temperature in many places of the state is likely to rise by 3°C to 4°C from Wednesday.
