Odisha is expected to experience a temperature increase in the coming days, with the mercury rising by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The impact of thunderstorms will be reduced in the state, while day temperatures may rise due to an inflow of dry-hot air from the north-west, according to the agency.
The daytime temperature is expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius in a few places in Odisha over the next 2-3 days, according to the forecast.
By 8.30 a.m., the maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar had reached 31 degrees Celsius, causing discomfort for commuters and those working outside.
In contrast, the Regional Meteorological Centre issued a thunderstorm warning (Yellow Warning) for several districts for today in its evening bulletin yesterday.
“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri,” it had predicted.
