The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘Yellow’ warning on Monday for hot and humid conditions expected to continue in various Odisha districts through May 17.
On May 13, hot and humid conditions are forecast in one or two locations in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, according to the midday weather report.
The IMD has expected similar weather conditions in the same districts—excluding Keonjhar—for May 14. The condition is forecast to continue on May 15, with Dhenkanal likewise experiencing hot and humid weather.
A ‘Yellow’ alert remains in place across the impacted areas until May 17. The general public is recommended to take appropriate precautions, particularly vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with medical issues.
