After a brief break, cold days are likely to return to Odisha on Friday. The India Meteorological Department’s regional office predicts a 2°C to 4°C dip in temperature in the state’s coastal parts, particularly the hilly regions, this weekend.
Cyclone Fengal has brought light rain and mild to moderate fog to the state’s coastal districts. The weather office predicts light to moderate fog in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar for the next two days. Light rain is also expected in one or two areas of Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri on Friday.
Rain is expected on December 8 in certain districts of south central Odisha, including Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh.
Meanwhile, Borigumma in Koraput district received the most rainfall in the last 24 hours, totaling 65.4 mm. Other places, including Kotapada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, received 7.8mm, 6mm, and 5.2mm of rain, respectively. The night temperature in most places of Odisha has stayed above 15°C for the past two days.
