Odisha’s scorching temperatures this week were briefly relieved by rainfall, but they are expected to return in the coming days. Over the following three days, the maximum daytime temperature will progressively rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius in several parts of Odisha. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast for the upcoming week indicates that there won’t be any significant changes to the maximum daytime temperature.
Following a nor’wester that affected ten districts in the state and brought relief to several areas of Odisha, the state saw an impressive decrease in daytime temperatures.
According to regional IMD prediction, the mercury level is expected to rise by 2 degree C to 3 degree C across many places of the state after four days, but the day temperature is expected to remain normal during most parts the week. The met office predicted the day temperature will remain between 36 degree C and 38 degree C in the capital city till Saturday.
“Rainfall activity will occur in the state due to the moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal. As a result, light to moderate rainfall and thundershower activity is expected at many places till Thursday”, director of IMD, Odisha Dr Manorama Mohanty was quoted saying on Monday.
It is quite probable that there will be light rain in one or two locations today over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur, according to the weather forecast.
