Aakanksha Bansal of the CISF and Karan Sehrawat of Haryana were crowned champions of champions at the ongoing 11th India Open Shooting Championship, winning the 10m air pistol competition for women and men at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range (DKSSR).
While Aakanksha defeated Uttar Pradesh’s Yashika Goel 17-15 in the gold medal match, Karan defeated Uttarakhand’s Akshit Chauhan 16-8.
Aakanksha shot 570 in the qualification round to finish second overall in a field of 33 competitors, and then 145.4 in the knockout round to earn a shot at the title.
Karan, on the other hand, finished third in his qualification round with a score of 573 before shooting 152.1 in the knockout round to win the title.
