According to the Union Health Ministry, India saw a 40% increase in new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, with 3,016 cases reported. The Delhi government has called an emergency meeting in light of the increasing number of cases.
The daily positivity rate is 2.7%, and the weekly positivity rate is 1.71 percent.
In the last 24 hours, there were 1,396 recoveries, and the active caseload was 13,509.
After the number of Covid cases increased on Wednesday, the Delhi government called an emergency meeting. According to the Delhi government’s health bulletin, 300 new Covid infections were recorded in the national capital in the last 24 hours, an increase from Tuesday’s 214 cases.
In the meantime, two Covid-19-related deaths have been reported in the same time frame.
The national capital city’s positivity rate has risen to 13.79%. The number of active cases is 806; 452 patients are being treated in home isolation.
With 163 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries to date stands at 19,82,029, while Delhi’s total caseload stands at 20,09,361 and the city’s death toll stands at 26,526.
In the last 24 hours, 2,160 new tests — 1490 RT-PCR and 670 Rapid Antigen — were performed, bringing the total to 4,07,85,433, while 141 vaccines were administered — 27 first doses, 34 second doses, and 80 precaution doses.
According to the health bulletin, the total number of beneficiaries vaccinated to date is 3,74,04,636.
