Rishi Singh of Ayodhya, whose fans include star cricketer Virat Kohli and who has an Arijit Singh-like voice and singing style, was named the winner of ‘Indian Idol 13’ late on Sunday night.
Rishi, who has been a fan since the beginning, wins a cheque for Rs 25 lakh as well as a car. The first and second runners-up are Debasmita Roy and Chirag Kotwal. Sonakshi Kar, Shivam Singh, and Bidipta Chakravarty also made it to the grand finale show.
Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani, and Neha Kakkar served as judges for the popular reality show.
One of the show’s highlights was Rishi telling the story of how his parents adopted him. “Main kahin sadh raha hota, main kahin mar raha hota,” he said, “I would have been rotting away somewhere, maybe dying.”
Rishi revealed that he only recently learned about his past during the reality show’s Theatre Round. That’s when his parents told him the most important truth of his life. “I know I wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t been for them.” “They’re like God to me,” a grateful Rishi told the world.
Rishi Singh is now one of the 255 people Virat Kohli follows on social media. Indeed, his parents provided him with a life he would not have even dreamt of had he not been adopted by them.
