Organic jaggery, according to the Hindustan Times, does not elicit the same ‘extent of human response in the body as white sugar does.’ Jaggery contains a lot of sugar but is less dangerous for diabetics than white sugar. According to a review published in the International Journal of Agricultural Science, jaggery also contains iron, phosphates, and calcium, which are not found in white sugar.
