Atlee Kumar’s Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is proving to be an unstoppable force at the box office. Within 11 days of its release, the actioner has already surpassed the Rs 800-crore barrier globally, with an astounding domestic revenue of over Rs 530 crore, highlighting its potential to become one of the biggest successes in Indian movie history.
Meanwhile, the phenomenal success of Jawan demonstrates why Shah Rukh Khan is justifiably dubbed as Bollywood’s Baadshah. Jawan’s success comes just months after SRK made history with the hit Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand.
Many people, including Shah Rukh Khan, were skeptical about Pathaan because it marked his comeback to the lead role after a five-year absence. While Pathaan entered the Rs 1,000-crore club on the 27th day of its theatrical release, Dangal took months to reach the milestone and did so only after it was released in China. However, based on recent trends, Jawan is likely to cross the milestone by the end of its third week of theatrical run.
Movie with the highest India gross
While Dangal remains the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s India gross was three times lower than its international collection after the Aamir Khan picture finished its global theatrical run with Rs 2,070.30 crore. The majority of the film’s earnings came from China, with India accounting for Rs 535 crore.
Pathaan’s domestic gross of Rs 657.5 crore is the largest in the history of the film industry. While Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 comes in second with Rs 610.4 crore and continues its box-office run in a low-key manner, Jawan’s India total has now surpassed Rs 530 crore.
Not only would Jawan’s entry into the Rs 1,000 crore club make Shah Rukh the only Indian artist with two Rs 1,000 crore grossers in a single year, but it will also make SRK the only Bollywood actor with two Rs 1,000 crore grossers.

Jawan is presently the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of all time and the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. The film is also the fastest to achieve the Rs 400 crore Hindi nett mark. It is also the quickest to reach Rs 300 crore.
Highest single-day earner of all time
Atlee’s Jawan smashed the record for the highest single-day collection by an Indian film on its debut Sunday, earning Rs 80.10 crore. Jawan received an unparalleled response from moviegoers after its worldwide premiere, crossing the Rs 200-crore mark at the box office within three days of its release, a milestone not accomplished by any Bollywood film to date. Pathaan completed the task in four days.
Biggest ever first-week total for a Hindi film
SRK’s Jawan broke his own box office record for the highest first week total for a Hindi film, grossing Rs 369.43 crore in seven days. The previous record holder was Khan’s previous film, Pathaan, which made Rs 364.15 crore in its first week of release.
Jawan, which also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethuptahi, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover, was released to critical acclaim on September 7. Deepika Padukone had a cameo appearance in the film as well. Shah Rukh will next be seen in Dunki, which is set to be released around Christmas.
