The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued rules for applicants registering for the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) Main 2025 based on Aadhaar Card name mismatches. The application process for the JEE Main 2025 session 1 test is already underway and will continue until November 22.
The guidelines were released in response to concerns raised by applicants enrolling for JEE Main 2025 about technological challenges with Aadhaar Card authentication caused by a discrepancy between the names on the card and Class 10 educational certificates or mark sheets.
The JEE Main organizing body has made changes to the online form to help applicants complete their applications more smoothly. The NTA has listed a few procedures to streamline the process:
– If a candidate gets a pop-up after selecting ‘Confirm Name as per Aadhaar’, the candidate should close the pop-up box
– On closing the pop-up box, a new window will appear on the screen to proceed with Aadhaar authentication. In this step, candidates will have to enter their name exactly as it appears on their Aadhaar Card
— Both the name on the educational certificate and the Aadhaar card will be captured during this process, allowing candidates to continue with the application form
This year, JEE Main will also be divided into two phases. The first session will take place from January 22 to 31, 2025, with the second scheduled for April 2025. This year, the NTA removed the optional questions from Section B of the JEE Main 2025 test.
In addition, the number of JEE Advanced tries has increased from two to three starting this year. According to the revised norms, a candidate may take JEE Advanced three times in three years.
