The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the orientation and class start dates for all twenty-three Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates can check the timetable on JoSAA’s official website, josaa.nic.in.
According to the announced schedule, class commencement and orientation will occur in three stages at all IITs: reporting and physical registration of new students, orientation for candidates and parents, and, in some circumstances, class commencement. Here is the whole schedule for the IITs.

JoSAA Counselling 2025: List of documents required for physical reporting at IITs
Selected candidates are required to carry the following documents for verification during the JoSAA counselling process, at their designated institutes:
–JoSAA Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip)
–Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter generated online at the JoSAA Reporting Center (Provisional Offer and Seat Acceptance Letter)
–Class 10 Mark Sheet or Certificate
–Birth Certificate (only if the date of birth is not mentioned in the Class 10 mark sheet/certificate)
–Class 12 Mark Sheet or Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
–Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates) — must be in the prescribed format available on the JoSAA portal
–PwD Certificate (if applicable)
–Aadhaar Card
–Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI/PIO Card, if applicable
–Income Certificate (for candidates applying for fee remission) — must be issued on or after 01 April 2024 and applicable for families with an annual income less than Rs 5 lakhs.
The second round of JoSAA is underway. The seat allocation results for Round 3 will be announced on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. Once released, it will be available on the candidate portal and JoSAA’s official website.
