Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said today that eligible women who were previously excluded from the Subhadra initiative will now get benefits. The project, which aims to empower women through financial assistance, has encountered problems, with some legitimate beneficiaries being disqualified for technical reasons.
“Many eligible women beneficiaries have been deprived of financial support under the Subhadra scheme due to technical reasons. We are examining factors such as ration cards, updated KYC, and other details to ensure genuine beneficiaries are not left out”, said Parida after a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Prior to the conference, the Women and Child Development Department requested reports from three major departments. These departments are Commerce and Transportation, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, and Health.
The Transportation Department was asked to give information about women who own four-wheelers, while the Health Department was entrusted with checking the list of deceased beneficiaries. Similarly, the Food Supplies Department was requested to look into the land records of women who sold paddy.
Parida presided over the review meeting, which was based on the reports presented by these departments, and reviewed strategies to incorporate eligible women who had previously been excluded from the Subhadra initiative.
Meanwhile, Parida stated that the denied recipients will be admitted to the scheme once the reports had been properly verified.
