Bhubaneswar: The Regional MeT Center today expected that rain will last several parts of the state from tomorrow till November 19.
As per a unique bulletin issued through the MeT Centre, light to mild rain is possibly lash numerous parts of the state from day after today. The weathermen also issued Yellow caution for 5 districts– Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri.
“Yesterday’s low pressure area over south Andaman sea and adjoining Thailand coast moved slightly west-northwestwards and lay over central parts of Andaman sea at 5.30 am today. It persisted over the same region at 8.30 am. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become well marked over north andaman sea & adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal by November 15. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west–northwestwards across east-central & adjoining southeast BoB, concentrate into a depression over west-central BoB by November 17 and reach near south Andhra Pradesh coast around November 18,” the bulletin read.

Rainfall
November 17: mild to slight rainfall very probable to arise at many places over districts of south coastal Odisha with heavy falls at isolated locations over the district of Gajapati and Ganjam.
November 18: light to slight rainfall very probable to occur at many locations over districts of south Odisha with heavy falls at isolated places over the district of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
Wind
Squally wind speed accomplishing 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to arise over westcentral
adjoining east BoB during November 16 to 18 and commence, along & off Andhra Pradesh & South Odisha coasts from November 17.
Sea condition
Sea condition may be rough to very hard over west-central November 16-18 and along & off Andhra
Pradesh & south Odisha coasts on November 17 & 18.
Fishermen warning
fishermen are advised not to venture into deep sea areas of west-central BoB during November 16-18 and along and off south Odisha coasts on November 17 & 18. Fishermen whoever out at sea are recommended to return to coast by November 17.
