The Scorpio-N facelift SUV will be launched in India soon by Mahindra and Mahindra. The new generation Scorpio will be unveiled on June 27. Mahindra has already revealed the SUV’s exterior design via official images, revealing that the versatile vehicle has undergone significant cosmetic changes. New information about the SUV has emerged as it approaches its debut date, revealing the power output of the engines to be used in the new Scorpio-N.
The new Scorpio-N, according to reports, will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The previous generation Scorpio, now known as the Scorpio Classic, is only available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine. This engine will also be used in the next generation Scorpio-N with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is also used in flagship SUVs like the XUV700 and Thar, is expected to produce 168 hp. This is nearly 40 horsepower more than the standard 2.2-litre diesel engine can produce. Even the 4X4 version of the new Scorpio-N, which will use the same diesel engine, is expected to be less powerful than the petrol engine.
Both engines are expected to come with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission unit.
The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will be the second model in Mahindra’s lineup to feature the company’s new SUV branding, which was first seen on the XUV700. The new Scorpio-N, which is built on a new body-on-frame platform, has a new design with sharper looks at the front. In addition to the new grille, the SUV will get dual LED projector headlamps.
The interior of the new Scorpio-N, which has yet to be officially revealed, is also expected to change significantly. The SUV is now expected to include features such as a new touchscreen infotainment system, new steering wheel configuration, 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, connected car technology, and cruise control, among others.
