Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Alto K10, the bigger sibling of the Alto 800. This marks the return of the Alto K10 to the Indian market, where it will be sold alongside the existing Alto 800 at a starting price of 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatchback’s price rises to 5.83 lakh (ex-showroom). When compared to the previous generation model, the new Alto K10 looks completely different. However, some design cues have been carried over to the new model. The Hyundai Santro and Renault Kwid will be competitors for the small hatchback.
The new Alto K10, which is based on the fifth generation Heartect platform, features a completely restyled grille with a black mesh. The grille shape is similar to the old model. The headlamps, front bumper, and bonnet are also noticeably different. The side profile and rear have also been updated. It resembles the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Customers can choose between two customization packages for the new Alto K10: Impacto and Glinto. The hatchback is equipped with 13-inch wheels. It comes in six different exterior color options.
Some significant changes have been made inside the cabin. The SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is the most powerful. Remote key access electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted controls etc. are other features.
Despite the automaker’s increasing focus on SUVs and higher-end vehicles, the Alto remains at the heart of Maruti Suzuki’s product strategy. As a result, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the automaker’s most important product launch of the year.
The new generation 1.0-litre K-Series dual-jet, dual VVT engine powers the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10. It’s paired with an automatic gear shift (AGS) transmission. The engine has a mileage of 24.90 kmpl. It has ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, a speed sensing door lock, and other safety features.
