Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has unveiled the Victoris, its second mid-size SUV and the new flagship of its Arena dealership range. The Victoris, which sits above the Brezza, is based on the Grand Vitara chassis and carries Maruti’s new “Got It All” positioning, which combines clever technology, indulgent comfort, all-round safety, and diverse powertrains. Bookings have commenced at Arena dealerships and online, with an initial payment of Rs 11,000.

Exterior

The SUV’s design is sleek and progressive, with a chiseled wraparound stance, LED projector headlights, integrated LED taillights, roof rails, and aerodynamic alloy wheels. The inside is decorated in a black-and-ivory dual-tone theme, with a soft-touch dashboard, textured seat upholstery, piano black inlays, and a panoramic sunroof that adds to the spacious atmosphere. Customers can also customize their SUVs with the Raffin Package, which includes dark chrome exterior garnishes, skid plate highlights, dual-tone seat covers, illuminated sill guards, and premium interior trimmings.

The Victoris will be offered in 10 exterior colours, including seven monotone and three dual-tone options. Two new shades, Mystic Green and Eternal Blue, make their debut on this SUV. In terms of dimensions, the Victoris measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/60 tyres.

Interior

Inside, the Victoris is designed for connected, tech-savvy buyers. The cabin has a 26.03 cm completely digital instrument cluster with customisable modes and a 25.65 cm SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an integrated app store with 35+ apps, OTA updates, and Alexa Auto Voice AI. A segment-first Infinity by Harman 8-speaker audio system featuring Dolby Atmos 5.1 surround sound offers a ‘Theatre on Wheels’ experience. Next-Gen Suzuki Connect includes more than 60 connected automobile capabilities, including eCall emergency assistance. Other high-end features include a smart motorized tailgate with numerous gesture modes, ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, wireless charging with active cooling, Type-C fast charging ports, a PM2.5 filter with AQI display, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

Powertrain options

The Victoris comes with several powerplant options. The 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine produces 10b3hp and 139Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, resulting in fuel efficiency of 21.18km/l (MT) and 21.06km/l (AT). A powerful hybrid 1.5-litre petrol engine with EV mode and an e-CVT transmission produces 116bhp and a best-in-class 28.65 km/l. Maruti now provides a factory-fitted S-CNG variant with 87bhp and 121Nm, as well as a segment-first underbody fuel tank design that saves trunk space and returns 27.02km/kg. An ALLGRIP Select 4×4 variant with 6AT and paddle shifters offers multi-terrain drive modes as well as Hill Descent Control.

Safety

The Victoris prioritizes safety. The SUV received a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating, with 31.66 out of 32 for adult protection and 43 out of 49 for kid safety. All variations come standard with six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, TPMS, and reverse parking sensors. Level 2 ADAS provides over ten intelligent driver-support technologies, including adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, automated emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, high-beam assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SUV is also equipped with a high-definition 360-degree camera with 11 viewing angles, all-wheel disc brakes, and an automatic parking brake with brake hold. Every Victoris is backed by Maruti’s ARENA Safety Shield and a standard 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty.

Speaking at the launch, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEO, MSIL, said: “The new-age Indian customer is hyper-connected, well-travelled, and environmentally conscious. With its high technology, sleek design, 5-star safety and multiple eco-friendly powertrains, the Victoris has ‘Got It All’. This launch strengthens both our SUV portfolio and our overall market share.”

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), MSIL, added: “Today’s young SUV buyers value experiential living and see their vehicle as a reflection of their personality. The Victoris is a progressive blend of tech, design and versatility. With it, we are not just launching another SUV, but a new dimension to driving that’s truly ‘Got It All’.”

The Victoris will be exported to more than 100 countries throughout the world, not just India. Domestically, it reinforces Arena’s position by introducing its first true flagship SUV. Maruti’s SUV portfolio has already increased its share from 8.9% in FY21 to 28% in FY25, and with the Victoris, the company hopes to accelerate this rise in the highly competitive mid-size SUV category.
