Maruti Suzuki, celebrating the success of the WagonR, has launched the limited edition Waltz variant, priced at Rs 5.64 lakh onwards, ex-showroom. Maruti Suzuki has sold over 32.5 lakh WagonRs since its launch, and the tall-boy hatchback continues to drive sales for the automaker.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR Waltz Edition: What is it?
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR Waltz edition receives external enhancements above the ordinary version. Among the modifications are fog lamps, wheel arch cladding, bumper protectors, side skirts, body side moulding, new floor mats, interior styling kits, and a front chrome grille. Inside, the WagonR Waltz features a touchscreen music system, speakers, a security system, and a reverse parking camera.
Aside from these improvements, the WagonR Waltz is identical to the normal version, including engine options. The first option is a 1.0-litre engine that produces 66bhp and 89Nm of torque in petrol and 56bhp and 82Nm in CNG. The next engine is a 1.2-litre unit producing 89bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The WagonR Waltz Edition also includes current technology amenities such a touchscreen infotainment system, speakers, a security system, and a reverse parking camera. The limited edition is available in LXi, VXi, and ZXi models. In FY24, the regular five-seater was the most popular model in the brand’s domestic range, and it still sells well.
Since its introduction in 1999, the WagonR has established itself as one of India’s most iconic hatchbacks, known for its dependability. With over 32.5 lakh purchasers, it is one of the best-selling automobiles in the country. The hatchback sold its initial ten lakh units in 2012, another ten lakh in 2017, and an outstanding thirty lakh units by 2023.
WagonR had a 61% market share in the mid-hatchback segment last fiscal year, which has increased to 64% this fiscal year. It is powered by a 1.0L and 1.2L petrol engines, which are combined with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT in petrol, as well as a CNG fuel option.
In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR now has dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Hold in AMT. Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the next generation Dzire in India, followed by the eVX electric SUV.
