The market capitalization (mcap) of BSE-listed firms reached a new high of Rs 320.94 lakh crore on Friday, boosted by the continuing rally in domestic stocks.
The BSE Sensex rose 333.35 points, or 0.50 percent, to 66,598.91.
The benchmark index has risen 1,767.5 points, or 2.72 percent, since August 31.
The market capitalisation of BSE-listed businesses reached a fresh all-time high of Rs 3,20,94,202.12 crore, aided by an optimistic trend in domestic stocks.
Among the laggards were ITC, UltraTech Cement, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, and JSW Steel.
Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong all finished in the red in Asian markets. European stocks were falling. On Thursday, the US markets ended on a mixed note.
In the broader market, the BSE midcap index rose 0.92 percent, while the smallcap index rose 0.43 percent.
Real estate rose 2.13 percent, capital goods rose 1.51 percent, power rose 1.48 percent, oil and gas rose 1.43 percent, consumer durables rose 1.35 percent, and energy rose 1.33 percent.
Commodities, FMCG, and IT were the laggards.
