The second round of NEET UG Counseling 2025 will start on August 29, according to an official announcement from the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). The National Medical Commission (NMC) has also indicated in a recent update that there will be more MBBS seats available starting with this round. The comprehensive counseling schedule will soon be made available on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in, together with information on choice filling, seat assignments, and reporting deadlines.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN ROUND 2?
Round 2 is open to a new set of candidates as well as those who wish to upgrade. Students falling under the following categories are eligible:
- Candidates who did not register or apply in Round 1.

- Students who registered but were not allotted any seat in Round 1.
- Those allotted a seat in Round 1 but who did not report to the college.
- Candidates who joined the process in Round 1 but now wish to upgrade to a better seat.
However, students who have already accepted and reported to their Round 1 seat will not be eligible to participate again in Round 2.
STEPS TO REGISTER
To take part in Round 2, candidates must log in to the MCC portal using their NEET UG 2025 roll number and password. Once the revised counselling schedule is uploaded, applicants can fill choices, lock preferences, and track seat allotment results directly online.
- Documents required for offline reporting
After seat allotment, selected candidates will need to report to their respective institutes with the required documents. Aspirants are advised to carry the originals along with at least two to three sets of self-attested photocopies. The key documents include:
- NEET UG 2025 admit card (issued by NTA)
- NEET UG Scorecard/Rank Letter
- Class 10 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
- Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
- A valid government-issued Photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport/Driving Licence)
- Passport-size photographs (8–12 copies)
- Provisional Allotment Letter (downloaded from MCC portal)
- Proof of counselling fee and security deposit payment
Candidates should also keep any additional documents handy, as specific institutes may require them during verification.
