Meta has stated that it would be releasing changes to Facebook Feed that will add more Reels editing options, making it easier for users to create dynamic movies on the network.
“Whether posting a video for friends and family to see, or trying to reach people who share similar interests, our video editing tools will make it possible for people to express themselves in new ways via Reels or long-form videos,” the company said in a blogpost on Monday.
More clip editing options, such as video speed-up, reverse, and substitute clips, are being added to the Feed. Users will also be able to combine the perfect sound into their film with better audio by discovering and adding music and audio snippets, recording voiceovers, and minimizing undesirable noise. Meta will also enable users to submit high dynamic range (HDR) videos from their phones to Reels.
“The Video tab, previously known as Facebook Watch, is now the one-stop shop for everything video on Facebook, including Reels, long-form and Live content,” the company said.
“The Video tab will look familiar– you can scroll vertically through a personalized feed that recommends all types of video content– but will also feature new horizontal-scroll reels sections that highlight recommended reels, so you can quickly jump into short-form video.”
Users will soon notice Video as a tab in the shortcut bar. Furthermore, a revamped video Explore is being rolled out to assist users in discovering and delving deeper into popular video topics. Users can access Explore by clicking the search button in the Video tab. “We use a combination of human curation and machine learning to select popular topics and videos and surface the ones we think you’ll enjoy and find interesting,” Meta added.
Furthermore, Facebook users will be able to see and comment on Instagram Reels that have been recommended to them on Facebook without having to transfer between apps.
