Migraine: Know Effective Ayurvedic tips to heal migraine pain

A migraine attack can be excruciatingly painful, and for those who suffer from them on a regular basis, life can be difficult. Migraine is characterized by a throbbing, severe headache, as well as nausea and vomiting. Auras or visual disturbances can also occur just before or during a migraine attack. It usually affects one side of the face, and there may be difficulty speaking as well as tingling sensations in the hands and legs.
A migraine attack can last anywhere from 4 hours to a few days, depending on the individual. Medication and certain foods may help alleviate symptoms. Certain Ayurvedic remedies for pain relief can be tried at home.

Soaked raisins, cardamom tea, and cow ghee can help relieve migraine pain by balancing doshas and relieving symptoms associated with the health problem.

In a recent Instagram post, Ayurveda expert Dr Dixa Bhavsar discussed three foods that are easily available in the kitchen to relieve migraine symptoms.

1. SOAKED RAISINS

You can start your day with herbal tea and then follow it up with 10-15 overnight soaked raisins. This will be extremely effective in relieving migraine headaches. When consumed consistently for 12 weeks, it reduces overall excess pitta in the body as well as aggravated Vata and alleviates all migraine symptoms such as acidity, nausea, irritation, one-sided headache, heat intolerance, and so on.

2.TEA WITH CUMIN AND CARDAMOM

This can be done an hour after lunch or dinner, or whenever migraine symptoms are prominent. It is very simple to make. Boil half a glass of water with 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) and 1 cardamom for 3 minutes, then strain and enjoy this delicious migraine-relieving tea.

This works best for nausea and stress relief. Can be taken before bedtime or whenever the symptoms are severe.

3. COW GHEE

Nothing beats cow ghee for balancing excess pitta in the body and mind.

Ghee can be used in a variety of ways, including:

1. In meals – on roti, rice, or when sautéing vegetables in ghee

2. Can be consumed with milk before going to bed.

3. Nasya (instilling 2 drops in nostrils)

 

4. With medicines – Certain migraine herbs, such as brahmi, shankhpushpi, yastimadhu, and others, can be taken with ghee.

Instead of popping pills to alleviate migraine symptoms, try these natural migraine relievers.
