Odisha begins process of Vaccination to Family Members of Healthcare Provider

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has asked all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, CDM & PHOs to facilitate COVID-19 vaccination of the family members of healthcare providers.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, PK Mohapatra, in a letter to the authorities on Tuesday mentioned that vaccination of Healthcare Employees started on priority from January 16, 2021, in Odisha and more than 95% of Healthcare Employees have been vaccinated till date.

“It is pertinent to mention here that the family members of these healthcare providers are equally at risk for COVID-19 infection because of the nature of work of healthcare providers,” he added.

Therefore, he requested the authorities to facilitate COVID-19 vaccination of the family members of healthcare providers at health facilities in their district or Corporation at suitable COVID vaccination centres (CVCs).
