The official WhatsApp channel of the National Council of Educational Research and Training has been announced. The Council strives to offer genuine updates on curriculum, textbooks, teacher training, educational research, workshops, and initiatives that support quality, equity, and holistic education, as disseminated through the channel on the microblogging platform X.
The council has previously started an interactive initiative to help children improve their mathematical abilities using artificial intelligence.
In the meantime, the NCERT has assisted in a crackdown on the illegal printing of NCERT textbooks that have been pirated by working with the Delhi Police Crime Branch. After receiving information about this problem, the Crime Branch raided a printing business in Village Jawli, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
About 32,000 pirated NCERT textbooks covering a range of courses and topics were found during the investigation. Aluminum printing plates, paper rolls, printing ink, and two printing machines were also found by the authorities, indicating widespread illegal printing.
In accordance with the pertinent provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Copyright Act of 1957, the operation was started based on information gathered from a previous case filed by the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch under FIR No. 336/2025 on November 11, 2025.
During the raid and seizure process, representatives from NCERT’s Publication Division were present and offered technical support for the detection and confirmation of stolen content. NCERT reaffirms that it is illegal to print, distribute, or sell NCERT textbooks without authorization.
In the meantime, NCERT is operating with over half of its authorized positions unfilled, according to data presented in the Rajya Sabha on December 17. Only 1,219 of the 2,844 sanctioned positions throughout NCERT headquarters, regional institutes, and departments are now occupied, leaving 1,625 vacancies open in Group A, B, and C categories.
In answer to an unstarred question from Rajya Sabha MP Samirul Islam, which asked for information on open positions, contractual appointments, and permanent recruitment at NCERT over the previous five years, the Ministry of Education provided this information.
