The newly elected NDA MLAs in Bihar will meet on Sunday to determine the longer term plan of action to type the government. The assembly will happen at 12:30 pm, Nitish Kumar informed reports after a meeting of the NDA leaders at his residence, 1, Anne Marg in Patna. The meeting was attended by Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni.
“On November 15, at 12:30 pm all the NDA MLAs will hold a joint meeting, all decisions will be notified,” Nitish said. He informed {that a} Cabinet assembly is slated for evening at this time. The Cabinet is prone to suggest to the Governor to dissolve the Assembly.
Nitish mentioned that the NDA will stake the declare to type the next government after Sunday’s assembly. The NDA in Bihar comprises 4 parties — Janata Dal (United), BJP, HAM, and VIP. The alliance secured 125 seats, three greater than the halfway mark of 122 within the 243-member Legislative Assembly. The BJP won 74 seats whereas the JDU pocketed 43 seats. Other NDA constituents HAM and VIP won 4 seats each.
In the meantime, Nitish may take oath as Bihar chief minister for a fourth successive term on Monday however the date has not been finalised yet, a close aide told PTI on Thursday. Raj Bhavan sources informed PTI that they haven’t received any communication about when the swearing-in ceremony will take place.
Before Nitish Kumar is sworn-in because the chief minister again, he has to tender his resignation to the Governor. The BJP has already declared that the following government will probably be formed beneath the leadership of Nitish Kumar. This would be the seventh time when Nitish will take oath because the CM of Bihar (2000, 2005, 2010, twice in 2015, and 2017).
The tenure of the present Bihar Legislative Assembly will expire on November 29.
