On March 12, the National Testing Agency (NTA) began the application correction window for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET UG). The NEET UG application process for 2026 began on February 8 and will continue until March 11. Candidates who made mistakes on the application form can now amend and make corrections until March 14. The official website for making adjustments in the NEET UG application form 2026 is neet.nta.nic.in.
Candidates will have the option of changing either the father’s name, qualification, and occupation or the mother’s name, qualification, and occupation.
Changes and additions to these will be permitted: educational qualification details: Class 10 and Class 12, state or UT where Class 12 is passed or appearing, category, sub-category, PwD, signature, and number of attempts in NEET UG 2026.
Candidates will be able to modify the examination city and medium of examination based on their permanent and current addresses.
A candidate who registered with an identification other than Aadhaar will be able to modify their identity details.
If there is an impact on the fee, the additional fee will be paid as applicable, the NTA stated while announcing the NEET UG 2026 application correction dates, adding that corrections in these fields will be effective only after the payment of any additional fees.
The candidate will be allowed only one modification; once the corrections have been completed and submitted, the NEET UG 2026 application forms will be frozen, according to the NTA.
NEET UG is the only exam in India that shortlists applicants for UG medical courses. For the past two years, more than 20 lakh students have registered for the exam. Last year, 22.7 lakh students registered for NEET UG. In 2024, up to 24,06,079 people registered for the exam. In 2023, it was 20,87,462. In 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019, the number of registered candidates for NEET UG was 18,72,343, 16,14,777, 15,97,435, and 15,19,375, respectively.
