The National Testing Agency (NTA), which will administer the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG), has urged aspirants to ensure that their Aadhaar card, UDID card (for persons with disabilities), and category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL) are up to date and valid before submitting the NEET UG 2026 application form. According to the NTA, this phase is intended to avoid disputes or rejections later in the admissions process.
According to the NTA recommendation issued on January 5, the Aadhaar card should have accurate information such as the candidate’s name, date of birth (as stated on the Class 10 certificate), portrait, address, gender, and biometric information.
Similarly, candidates with disabilities must verify that their certifications are current, updated, and renewed as needed.
Candidates belonging to the reserved categories will have to make sure that their certificates are current and compliant with requirements.
Aspirants planning to take the NEET UG 2026 should monitor the official NTA website – nta.ac.in and the NEET UG portal – neet.nta.nic.in on a regular basis for updates, thorough instructions, and notices about the exam.
Meanwhile, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced the NEET UG 2026 syllabus, which details the topics covered in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for the forthcoming medical entrance exam. The NEET UG 2026 syllabus is published at the Commission’s official website, nmc.org.in. The NEET UG syllabus remains based on the Class 11 and Class 12 curriculam, with a concentration on ideas covered in NCERT textbooks.
In 2025, NEET UG was held on May 4, in 2024 and 2023, NEET UG was conducted on May 5 and May 7, respectively.
Of the total 22,76,069 applicants who registered for NEET UG last year, 22,09,318 appeared. Of these, 12,36,531 individuals are eligible for admission to UG studies in medicine and related fields. The cut-off for general category (UR/EWS) pupils has decreased from 720-162 in 2024 to 686-144 in 2025. The cut-off for OBC, SC, ST, and UR/EWS PwBD category candidates is 143-113, whereas for OBC PwD, SC PwD, and ST PwD candidates, it is 126-113.
