Today, August 21, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will open the choice-locking window for round one of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling. mcc.nic.in is the official website for locking the choices. MCC has also extended the deadline for filling out the options. Candidates can now submit their preferences by 11:59 p.m. today.
Applicants who have enrolled for the NEET UG 2024 first phase of counselling and filled out their choices will be able to lock them in by August 21 (11:59 p.m.). The choice locking facility will open at 5 p.m. today.
Previously, the choice locking facility was scheduled to open on August 20 at 4 p.m. and closing at 11:55 p.m. The choice filling window was due to close on August 20.
The MCC has advised medical aspirants to download the ‘Sandes’ app to receive NEET UG counselling updates.
The choices made during the choice filling window can be changed before locking them. During the choice locking period, the choices must be locked in order to receive a print of the submitted choices, according to the MCC.
If candidates do not lock the choice they submitted, it will be locked automatically according to the schedule.
The Counselling Committee stated that once the selections are locked, they cannot be unlocked, even from MCC. MCC has recommended the candidates to exercise caution before locking the options.
“Go through your submitted choices before locking, as once you lock the choices they cannot be modified or changed even if you have made a mistake. It may result in allotment of a seat which you never wanted,” the MCC NEET UG information brochure said.
The round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on August 23. Candidates will have to report to the allotted institute between August 24 and 29.
MCC NEET UG counseling for AIQ seats will be place in four rounds this year: AIQ round 1, round 2, round 3, and an online stray vacancy round. The registration process for round 2 of the NEET UG counselling will begin on September 5 and run until September 10 (12 noon).
