Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping to engage with Hamas in order to free the nationals of their respective nations who have been detained by the organization since October 7.
In a statement, Netanyahu said that he had directly asked the Chinese President to grant Noa Argamani’s release. Noa Argamani’s mother Liora is from China and she suffered from cancer.
The Chinese Ambassador in Israel, Cai Run, represented the Israeli Prime Minister in his petition to President Xi on behalf of Liora, requesting that she see her baby before she passes away.
The statement claims that Netanyahu has told Cai that the mother wants to see her daughter one final time and has asked Xi to step in.
Additionally, the Israeli prime minister announced that he had spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin and asked him to step in to save Russian people being held captive in the Gaza Strip by Hamas and other terrorist organizations.
Remarkably, Putin gets along well with the Iranian regime, which is said to be supporting the terror groups Hezbollah and Hamas.
Netanyahu added that he had already asked Putin for something, and that the outcome had been favorable.
Over 20,000 Palestinians, including about 8,000 Hamas combatants, have lost their lives in Israel’s bloody conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. After Hamas militants stormed into south Israel on October 7, murdering 1,200, wounding over 3,000, and kidnapping 240 people, Israel replied. But from November 24 to December 1, there was a one-week truce in the fighting during which 105 hostages were freed. One female soldier of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was saved by the forces from Gaza, while four of the hostages had previously been freed. Israel has said that it will free those who are still being held captive and has confirmed that 22 of the remainder have died.
The Missing Families and Hostages Forum has been applying more and more pressure on the Government of Israel to try and work out a hostage deal for the release of all those in captivity.
