The i20 Sportz (O) model, which costs Rs 8.73 lakh ex-showroom, has been launched by Hyundai in India. The new model, which is based on the Sportz trim, comes in single or dual-tone paint schemes, with the dual-tone version costing Rs 8.88 lakh ex-showroom.
The Sportz (O) has an electric sunroof, leatherette door trim, and wireless charging in comparison to the Sportz model. Hyundai is charging Rs 35,000 more for the three extras that are added to the base Sportz model.
In terms of engine, the motor remains unchanged and the new Sportz (O) variant is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 82bhp and 115Nm of torque. Gearbox choices include a manual and an iVT, however, the Sportz (O) variant is available with a manual gearbox only.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, reverse parking sensors and camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors amongst others. The i20 competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Tata Altroz in the Indian market.
