On Saturday, the income tax department introduced a new website with a user-friendly interface, value-added features, and new modules.
The newly redesigned website was unveiled by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Nitin Gupta at the ‘Chintan Shivir’, an event hosted by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems) in Udaipur.
“In order to enhance taxpayer experience and keep pace with new technology, the Income Tax Department has revamped its National website ‘www.incometaxindia.gov.in’ with a user-friendly interface, value-added features, and new modules,” the CBDT said in a statement.
The updated website features a mobile-responsive layout. The website now has a content ‘Mega Menu’ with new features and functionalities.
All of these new elements are described to website users through a guided virtual tour and new button indicators. The new features enable users to compare various Acts, sections, rules, and tax treaties. To facilitate navigation, all relevant content on the site has been marked with Income Tax sections.
Furthermore, the dynamic due date notifications functionality offers reverse countdowns, tool suggestions, and links to appropriate portals to assist taxpayers in effortlessly complying. The CBDT noted that the new website is another endeavor in offering expanded taxpayer services that will continue to educate taxpayers and promote tax compliance.
