The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has issued the date sheets for the Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) exams in April and May 2025. Date sheets have been provided for Indian and international students. The NIOS Class 10 and 12 exams will begin on April 9 at exam sites in India and abroad.
The NIOS Senior Secondary exams will begin with Bharatiya Darshan on the first day for Indian students and culminate with Psychology and Sanskrit Vyakaran papers on the final day, May 19.
The NIOS Secondary, or Class 10, exams will start with the Entrepreneurship paper and conclude with Carnatic Sangeet, Employability Skills, Sanskrit Sahitya on May 19.
Almost all of the papers for the Class 10 and Class 12 NIOS Public Exams (Theory) will last three hours, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm for Indian students and 3 pm to 6 pm for international students. To prevent the last-minute rush, students are urged to arrive at the NIOS April-May 2025 exam center at least 30 minutes before the gate closes. Additionally, students must bring their NIOS 2025 April-May admission card and school ID card to the exam center, as these documents are required for entry.
While releasing the NIOS April-May 2025 exam dates, the open school stated that the exam date will not change.
The admission cards will be made available on the NIOS website (sdmis.nios.ac.in). The results are expected to be released seven weeks following the exam’s deadline.
Students who have registered with NIOS are also eligible to take the NEET UG exam for admission to UG medical courses.
“The students are permitted to study an additional subject from NIOS with the condition that the study needs to be carried out from any authorized institutions,” read an RTI clarification from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The notice after NTA released the NEET UG 2025 information bulletin on the national level medical examination. “It has come to the notice that confusion has been created stating that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued NEET-UG Bulletin 2025, which is not as per NMC Regulations,” read the notification.
