NTA JEE Mains 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the dates for the JEE Main session one and two exams. According to the official announcement, the JEE (Main) 2026 will be held in two sessions: the first in January 2026 and the second in April 2026. The JEE Main session one test is tentatively planned for January 21-30, with the Main session two set to take place from April 1-10.
The application window for JEE Mains session one will open in October 2025 on the NTA’s official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in.
In a move aimed at simplifying the JEE Main registration process, the NTA will auto-fetch key candidate details from the Aadhaar database, including name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address, through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This step is expected to minimise errors and streamline verification.
The agency has also reminded students of an earlier letter sent on November 6, 2024, regarding mismatches between Aadhaar and school certificates.
Candidates who encounter mismatches—such as spelling problems or different names—will have the opportunity to correct them during the JEE Main 2026 application process. Aspirants should double-check their Aadhaar and Class 10th certificate details ahead of time.
Expansion of JEE Exam Cities
The NTA also announced that the number of JEE Main exam cities would be increased to accommodate more candidates, ensuring greater accessibility throughout India. Special provisions will also be made for people with disabilities (PwD/PwBD).

In 2025, JEE Main was held in both January and April. The January session exam was held from January 22 to 30, while the April session exam was held from April 2 to 8. Last year, registration for JEE Main began on January 2. The city notification slip was made available next.
